Massive Drug Bust Unveils Distribution Operation in Colorado
COLORADO — In a major breakthrough, law enforcement agencies in Colorado have apprehended six individuals from Colorado Springs and Pueblo for their involvement in the distribution and possession of methamphetamine, fentanyl, heroin, and cocaine. The suspects were taken into custody following a series of drug seizures conducted between January and October of 2023.
During a targeted search of a residence in Pueblo on Tuesday, authorities uncovered a staggering four kilograms of heroin. However, two additional suspects connected to the case are still at large.
Identifying the Culprits
Three of the six individuals involved in the drug operation were brought before the federal court on Wednesday. They have been identified as Alex LNU, also known as Miguel Angel Gonzalez (previously known as Alonso Quinonez-Velazquez), Fidel LNU (previously known as Roberto Gutierrez), and Francisco LNU (previously known as Luis Saucedo-Bonilla).
Moreover, Adan Trevizo has been charged with possession with intent to distribute over one kilogram of a substance containing heroin, as stated in the criminal complaint.
Law Enforcement Agencies Join Forces
The investigation into this illicit drug network has been a collaborative effort involving multiple agencies, including the Drug Enforcement Administration, Homeland Security Investigations, Department of Homeland Security Enforcement & Removal Operations, FBI, U.S Marshals Service, Colorado Springs Police Department, Pueblo Police Department, El Paso County Sheriff’s Office, Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office, and Colorado State Patrol.
Authorities Laud the Joint Effort
El Paso County Sheriff Joseph Roybal expressed his commitment to safeguarding the local community, stating, “My Office will work with our federal partners to protect the citizens of El Paso County. The efforts of all involved with preventing illicit drugs from hitting our streets is nothing short of incredible.”
Pueblo County Sheriff David Lucero also commended the collaboration, emphasizing the positive impact it has had on the community. He stated, “This is just another great example of our local law enforcement working with our federal partners to combat illicit drugs in our community. The Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office is proud to have two task force detectives assigned to the DEA. Even though this unit is not highly publicized, they are having a positive impact on this community in reducing the distribution of illegal drugs.”
