ROSS COUNTY, Ohio: The local community in Ross County, Ohio, is in shock following a tragic road accident that claimed the lives of two adults and a juvenile on Monday. The Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP) reports that the incident happened at 4:31 p.m. close to the intersection of U.S. 35 and Main Street in Richmond Dale, Ohio.
According to preliminary investigations by the OSHP, the crash appears to have been caused by an SUV and a semi-truck colliding. According to the OSHP, the driver of the SUV attempted to turn left onto Main Street while the SUV was travelling east on U.S. 35. Additionally, a front-seat passenger, identified as 51-year-old Donavan Larson from Waco, Texas, and a juvenile passenger, whose identity has not been disclosed, tragically lost their lives as well.
Miraculously, the driver of the semi-truck emerged from the incident unharmed. However, the emotional toll of the accident cannot be underestimated.
In response to the tragedy, the OSHP promptly closed down U.S. 35 West for four hours to facilitate investigations into the crash. The circumstances surrounding the incident are currently under thorough examination.
Collaborative efforts from the Ross County Sheriff’s Office, Jefferson Township Fire and EMS, Liberty Township Fire and EMS, and the Ohio Department of Transportation assisted the OSHP at the accident scene.
