COON RAPIDS, Minn. – A tragic series of events unfolded recently in the quiet suburb of Coon Rapids, Minnesota, as three family members were found deceased in their home on January 26. The victims have been identified as Shannon Patricia Jungwirth, her son Jorge Alexander Reyes-Junwirth, and her husband Mario Alberto Trejo Estrada. Authorities have since apprehended a 37-year-old man from Fridley in connection with the homicides, although formal charges are yet to be made.
Remembering the Victims
Shannon Patricia Jungwirth, aged 42, was a loving mother and wife. Her life was tragically cut short, leaving the community in shock. Jorge Alexander Reyes-Junwirth, her 20-year-old son, was a promising young man with a bright future ahead of him. Mario Alberto Trejo Estrada, 39, was Shannon’s supportive husband and Jorge’s caring father. The loss of this family has left a void in the heart of Coon Rapids that will be hard to fill.
The Fateful 911 Call
The Anoka County Sheriff’s Office received a distressing 911 call at around 12:24 p.m. on January 26. The call was an open line, meaning it was placed but no one was responding, and disturbing sounds could be heard in the background. Responding officers from the Coon Rapids, Blaine police departments, and the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office arrived at the 200 block of 94th Avenue Northwest, where they made the grim discovery.
